I’m a bit of a neat freak, my friends and family can attest to that.  There has even been grumblings of slight OCD when it comes to keeping my home clean but I think I have cooled somewhat in my middle age.  Maybe it has something to do with not caring as much what people think and enjoying what little leisure time I do have.  I mean really, who’s going to come into my home while we’re out for dinner and do the white glove test… one.  No one really cares if everything is in it’s place… sometimes, neither do I.  I have adopted a few tricks to get the job done faster so I have more time for the things I really love.

A few months back I saw a commercial on tv for the Ultimate Dirt Catcher Mop.  I didn’t pay much attention at the time but after seeing the ad run over the next couple of weeks, I figured what the hell, might as well give it a try.  I toddled down to the local hardware store and bought me a present.  Yep, buying something to clean the house gives me a little thrill.  Guys like tools, I like them too.  And at the low price of $19.99 what could I lose…..nothing.  It seemed the perfect mop for my hardwood floors and ceramic tile.

I don’t think I had been in the house 10 minutes and the package was open and  I was testing that 360 degree swivel head.  First I used it dry then I used it wet.  I’m happy to report it worked really well.  It picked up dust bunnies and most small particles that were on the floor.  When the cloth got full and wasn’t attracting as much I simply took out the vacuum hose and quickly vacuumed off the cloth while it was still attached to the handle.  I made a second pass on the floor and was able to pick up anything left behind from the first pass.  Once I was happy with my work I pulled the cloth off of the head and ran it under hot water and wrung it out.  I then reattached the cloth and proceeded to wipe down the floors.  No streaks….no lint left behind.  Now, I’m a wash the floors on my hands and knees kind of gal…..but these days I just don’t have time to do that as often as I once did.  So this mop is a lifesaver when I want to do a good job in a short amount of time.

For both price and time saving I would recommend this mop to anyone with hardwood and/or ceramic flooring.
